Will accidently putting 87 octane gas in a BMW that requires 91 octane cause any problems?

I accidentally put in 87 octane instead of the recommended 91 octane in my BMW. I normally put in 91 octane, but just this once I made an error in filling up gas, could this cause any problems? This is the first time I have made this error while owing the car. Will accidently putting 87 octane gas in a BMW that requires 91 octane cause any problems? No.

You may notice your mileage is a little lower for this tank, and you have a little less power. Not a big deal, but try not to make a habit out of it. You end up paying more for cheaper gas in the long run with reduced mileage on cars that require premium.

Actually premium gas is cheaper right now. It's still only 20 cents more than regular, as it was when gas was only $2 a gallon. So then it was 10% more expensive, now it's only 5%!

If you are concerned then top it off with some premium at half a tank or so. The 87 will become 89 if you do it at half a tank. Or wait for the whole tank so you can get back up to 91 at the next fill up.Will accidently putting 87 octane gas in a BMW that requires 91 octane cause any problems?
It can cause performance problems and even damage the catalytic converter. Just buy some octane booster and add it in and you won't have to worry about it.Will accidently putting 87 octane gas in a BMW that requires 91 octane cause any problems?Your car won't run at its best but it won't ruin anything. Do not cotinue to do this. As soon as possible add some 91 octane to help increase the octane value of the gas already in the tank. Will accidently putting 87 octane gas in a BMW that requires 91 octane cause any problems?
yep you better drain the tank give the 87 to your neighbor %26amp; fill with the correct gas , at 4$ your neighbor will love ya!Will accidently putting 87 octane gas in a BMW that requires 91 octane cause any problems? You MIGHT get some knocking and pinging when you turn the car off. That's all.
