I have a 2000 BMW 323i. Today I tried to open the sunroof but it didnt open, it is making a grinding sound. I think it might be the motor but im not sure, has this happened to anyone else?Does anyone know how i can fix a broken sunroof on a bmw?Sounds like it was the motor that went out, or the sunroof is off track. There is no good way to just do it yourself, I would find a local bmw shop or car shop and have them look at it. If you are in need of your sunroof BMW usually equips them with a way to manually open them. There is usually a panel that comes off and you can put a screw like thing in a slot and make it go back that way.
If you decide to bring it to a professional try to stay away from dealerships because they can be expensive. this is pretty common on the e46 3 series. quick easy fix.
