I am looking at pictures online of volkswagen transmissions.... from looking at the pictures it looks like the rod thing that comes out of the transmission that the linkage connects to just rotates.. is this corrrect? Or does it move in other ways too?
What I am wondeirng is if you could fashion a shift linkage that works like a motorcycle shifter that just rotates by foot operation.. rather than an H-pattern type hand shifter..How does the shift linkage ona old VW bug work?Yes it rotates, but also goes backwards and forwards.How does the shift linkage ona old VW bug work?Yes about the rod, no to motorcycle style shifter.
