What features do you loose when replacing the stock radio in a 2006 BMW 330i with no iDrive?

Im getting a used 2006 BMW 330i with no iDrive. I want to replace the stock radio with an aftermarket model with intergrated ipod control, and nav. Unless you're buying a bottom of the range model, or a very good stereo though, you're going to have worse sound quality and performance as BMW (like other top marques) put in good quality sound systems to their vehicles, usually Blaupunkt or Bose.
