What is the life expectancy of a automatic transmission on a 1991 BMW 525i ?most BMW's will run well into the 200,000s if maintained properly. My 1994 525i auto transmission is getting rebuilt right now with 114,00 miles on it, starting acting up, has been maintained perfectly and I am the second owner. depends on what kind of driving you do, highway miles are much easier on your transmission than city driving , which is what I do.What is the life expectancy of a automatic transmission on a 1991 BMW 525i ?If you're not experiencing any problems now, then I would guess that the trans will make it to at least 200,000 km. The only bad BMW auto tranny I know of is the one used on the 3-series in the late 90s and early 2000s. Make sure that you replace the fluid regularly. I recommend a drain and fill or a pump out and fill (not a flush) every 40,000 km or earlier. Your trans filter should have been replaced at least once by now. What is the life expectancy of a automatic transmission on a 1991 BMW 525i ?My e34 tranny went out at 348k' km. And i was so hard on it. The only problem that they are "sealed transmissions" which means if the slightest thing goes wrong, your gonna need a new tranny. But its a bmw so it means quality and satisfaction and reliability. Bmw's got you covered. What is the life expectancy of a automatic transmission on a 1991 BMW 525i ?
If maintained properly, should not have problem to go 200,000km.
Hard to say, most BMW transmissions are bulletproof. If you take car of your car it could last longer than the rest of the car.
