How much higher is the maintance cost on a BMW vs Ford/Chevy/Dodge?

i want to get a bmw as my first car, i can afford the car, insurance, taxes all that junk but what i dont no about are the service costs?

It seemed like even the most trivial repairs cost 1000$. Problem with the idle speed? replace idlespeed control unit %26amp; actuator 1000$. Replace brake pads? you'll need to replace rotors (worn thin) 1000$. service indicator won't stay reset? 1000$ to replace the instrument cluster . parts ( and mechanics) will mostly only be found at the dealer. I'm sure repairs would be more affordable, if you lived in Germany. They're durable, and likely have fewer than average problems. But they'll be expensive problems, i think you'll find.How much higher is the maintance cost on a BMW vs Ford/Chevy/Dodge?Shop labor itself would be about the same,the parts themselves are very high though... Spark plug wires for my 944 are like $250 at autozone....
