I have a BMW M6 and i was wondering if someone can tell me what i need to do to the car setting before i starting drifting. What do i need to do to my BMW M6 before i drift in a parking lot?I would strongly recommend you to drift in video games rather than your M6. From personal experience, my friend has an 04 M3, yes he is a track driver and takes it to drag strip. He did try drifting at his local track and his rear differential exploded. (cost him big bucks). My point is, you have a $100K+ car, ask yourself this, do you think its worth drifting an M6, if you hit problems then what? What do i need to do to my BMW M6 before i drift in a parking lot?
turn off DSC
go into the idrive menu options and put throttle settings on dynamic, leave steering however you are comfortable, i personally drive with dynamic all the time because it is the most responsive. but practice with it first.
get to a wide open parking lot with blacktop, make sure there is no light poles, pot holes, or parked cars within a good distance. if the surface is wet this will be easier for your first time, go very slow at first, like keep it under 20 mph until you understand how the car moves without the back end. go into a turn at about 5mph and cut it sharp while throttling pretty hard for a few seconds, the tail will whip around. keep doing variations of that kind of turn and eventually you will be able to throw out the tail end in a real turn.
be ready to buy new tires afterwards. What do i need to do to my BMW M6 before i drift in a parking lot?You already should know how. You saw the Fast and the Furious movies, didn't you? You have also practiced on your Play Station, right? What more do you need to know? What do i need to do to my BMW M6 before i drift in a parking lot?
