What do you think of me getting a BMW 330i?

It has about 87,000 mileage. Their asking price is $16,888.00. Do you think it's worth it? I really like BMW's because the driving performance is amazing. What do you think of me getting a BMW 330i?PLEASE rethink your options on this purchase

the mileage is high considering the year TOO HIGH, you are beyond reasonable 1/2 life of this car without magor repairs...and that would fuss me considerably - at 100,000 miles you will have to experience regular servicing and potential for costly repairs.

the 330 is a nice all around car, but be aware that servicing costs-routine maintenance are at the top of the scale, and replacement parts are exceptionally expensive.

additionally PLEASE consider this car an overall decent drive, NOT amazing - its not a fast performance car. it has 255hp - at the crank, much less at the rear wheels and at almost 3500lbs is quite pudgy....so don`t expect to outrun a lot of cars from the get go.

the bmw driving performance is quite good - but not amazing so i expect you are moving up from an american model or much older car. there are very comparable drives to a bmw and many better on the road - so you might want to research your used car options (audi, lexus, infiniti, are all comparable and or have higher dependability/performance characteristics)...if this is kind of a 1st time bmw buy and you have not checked out other product in this `sport sedan` category - i highly recommend you do....

mileage is MUCH too high, and quite frankly there are a ton of used bmw`s around, so you do not have to rush to buy.

if you are going to get into a used 330 as a long term buy this should be more your type of target..

good luckWhat do you think of me getting a BMW 330i?
Yeah, it's a good engine for $17,000.

A 3.0 litre V6 in a reasonably light car will give good acceleration (around 7 seconds) and a good top speed.

Interiors in BMW's usually stand the test of time but be sure to look for obvious flaws in a car with quite high mileage - be sure to take the car on a long test drive with periods of hard braking, accelerating, full lock and rapid gear changes also be sure to really chuck it into the bends (to check the suspension of course!). Be sure to check for:

- Scraping, or too soft clutch.

- Tapping at full lock.

- ABS failing.

- Unusual sounds from the engine (whining, knocking etc).

- Indirect steering / veering to one side.

Basically just use your instinct - a car should just generally feel good to drive and if it does then its probably the car for you.

Also be sure to get a full copy of all the papers regarding the car (manuals, service history) and if all the tyres and brakes are good (maybe say throw in a new set of tyres for $17,000?) then I think you could be getting a damn good car for maybe $16,250...

-What do you think of me getting a BMW 330i?If you have a lot of money and enjoy getting to know your mechanic better than just a first name basis then buy it. That is a lot of money for the mileage. It won't handle like a new car because the suspension is well worn in and may need repair. At that mileage you will be looking at numerous other repairs if they haven't been done yet. Have a BMW dealer do a pre-purchase inspection for $2 to 300. Well worth the investment and it gives you bargaining power if things are worn out or repairs are needed. What do you think of me getting a BMW 330i?
I don't think you have fully checked this car over. Did you get a Carfax report? Has a mechanic, who is familiar with BMW, looked the car over? Does the owner/dealer have maintenance records? Do you want to spend another $4,000 on repairs after you buy it? That what I think of you getting a USED BMW 330i.What do you think of me getting a BMW 330i?if its an '06 e90 (new body style) with tat many miles I would only but it if its certified from a dealer. with the extended warranty. I own an e90 myself. What do you think of me getting a BMW 330i?
