the ones that come on the car are not good in the winter? Looking to buy a BMW but don't want to have to do alot of tire switching. And I don't want an SUV. I got a 328i a few months back. I've driven it in horrible rain storms, where I could barely see the road. It never slipped not even once. I don't even have the Xdrive. So far my BMW has been more stable than any front wheel drive car I've driven. I love it.

It depends if you get a car with the "Sport Package" or one of the M series cars. They come with summer tires and you have to change those out when the winter comes with some winter tires. The rest of the BMW cars come with all-season tires so you have to make sure you check the options list if you're buying a new or CPO BMW or ask the seller if you're buying privately. Another option would be to check the tires themselves and see if they're all-season or summer or call BMW (get the VIN of the car) and ask them about the options on the car. Sport Package equipped cars and any of the M Series will always come with summer tires.



On another note, I recommend to anyone buying a BMW (unless you're getting it from the ACTUAL BMW DEALER with a new warranty or CPO warranty) to get the VIN number and call BMW and get the information on the car. The next thing to do is to go down to a BMW dealership with the VIN and ask for the service history of the car. They'll be able to tell you the repair history of the car. The last thing you should do is get the car checked out by a mechanic. If it's all wheel drive, the tires on most bmw's would be fine. but if its rear wheel drive like most of the bmw's I would defenitely reccomend snow tires so you won't be all over the road
rebel if the car has rear drive then it's best to switch to snow tires if you get a lot of snow. or just get a all wheel drive bmw. the tires that usually come with new cars are all season tires. trust me, you don't want to switch out back %26amp; forth on snow tires. it's a lot of work %26amp; you have to get another set of rims. but if you get a lot of snow then it's probably worth it.
