I have a 328i BMW with 6Cd alpine cd changer in the boot. It was working fine till the battery went flat and now the main Radio/tape/cd unit only finds radio and tape inputs when I press the mode button. How can I reset this?
Thanks in advance. Why does my E46 BMW 328i not detect the CD changer?Try a battery reset overnight. Sometimes it works wonders. To do this, remove the negative battery terminal overnight and re-attach it next morning. Hopefully the cd player would now be recognized by the audio system.
If not, then try a new or different cd cassette. Or perhaps the wirings of the cd player got loosened or detached. If still no go, then the audio system has to be diagnosed using a BMW GT1 or Isis by a knowledgeable tech (not a wannabe). Why does my E46 BMW 328i not detect the CD changer? Is it powered up? Check the fuse has not blown as if it has it will not detect it there with no power.

How Do you send a power cord through a 96 BMW 318ti Firewall?
I need to send a power line from my battery to my amplifyer in the back of my BMW but I cant find any wholes in the fire wall. Do I have to drill a whole or is there already a whole. How Do you send a power cord through a 96 BMW 318ti Firewall? The BMW 318ti does not have any holes large enough to send a regular sized power chord through. BMW's were not typically designed for customization of this nature. You will have to drill a small hole (be VERY carefull where the drill comes out) to send a power wire through. Be sure to use a plastic or rubber tube with the right diameter according to the drill size to fill it in, so the wire does not fray. Glue the piece in and wait for it to dry before putting the wire through.
I went to Automotive Service school, and am familiar with this regarding many vehicles. How Do you send a power cord through a 96 BMW 318ti Firewall?look around sometimes there are rubber plugs that you can pull out or push a wire through. a couple places to try are with the harness that comes through the firewall to the PCM. another place Is quite a few cars have the option of being right or left hand drive. there may be somewhere to push the wire through there. if all else fails you may need to drill a hole. just make shure to run the wire through a grommet or at least a short piece of rubber hose so the wire does not wear through and short out. also. make shure your Positive wire for your amp has a fuse shortly after the battery and if you are running a big system to get a capacitor or you can damage your alternator and battery. How Do you send a power cord through a 96 BMW 318ti Firewall? There is only one way! You gotta drill buddy! Be sure not to destroy wires while drillingHow Do you send a power cord through a 96 BMW 318ti Firewall?
Drilll a hole if there isnt one and be sure to use a rubber grommet in the hole you drill so the edges of the hole dont rub through the wire and cause a short.

I have a BMW 5281 in black and im in love with it. It was my dads, then my sisters, and now its mine. The only problem is that the bmw sign in the middle of the rims is gone in 3 of the tires. Where would i go to get them replaced. Im concerned the dealership wont have the right sized ones because the car is kind of old.BMW sign in 3 out of my 4 rims is gone? You can order these things online. And put them on yourself. No BMW will probably not have them on the shelf. Any tire and wheel store can fix you up. And NEVER go to the dealership if its going to take money out of your pocket. Always go to a independent shop the techs there graduated from BMWs shop and moved up to the best. Techs at BMW are young wet behind the ears kids.BMW sign in 3 out of my 4 rims is gone?you could look on ebay
but the dealer will be able to order it, or at least know where you can aquire it. going through the dealer will probably be more expensive.BMW sign in 3 out of my 4 rims is gone?they are just center caps and the size is universal. you can go to the dealer and ask to buy some more but you can probably get them cheaper online.BMW sign in 3 out of my 4 rims is gone?

How do I set the clock on my 2001 BMW 325Xi?
The clock is not intergrated in the dash. It is part of the BMW Office stereo system and is part of CD player. The time is wrong and is set to a 24 hour format. I want to correct the time and change to the traditional format. Please help. Thanks. How do I set the clock on my 2001 BMW 325Xi?Hit your "BC" left stalk button until your time is displayed on your dash display (right at the line below your odometer). It should rotate like... time - temperature - mpg - range - ave speed - (and back to) time....etc.
Then, turn the right push-button on the dash and hold... the clock will fast-forward/reverse.
If you pushed that button instead of turning, you will be able to change 12hr/24hr settings. But remember, all these must be done with your time appearing in the central dash display.How do I set the clock on my 2001 BMW 325Xi?If you have I-DRIVE in your central front seat console (a big round alumium knob) you should select RADIO, or STEREO, or CD PLAYER with the big round aluminum knob; then look for clock time settings and the 12 hour or 24 hour option. You will need to have the ignition key in the "ON" position to do all of this".How do I set the clock on my 2001 BMW 325Xi?Correct ME if I'm Wrong...but I believe that the buttons come in this order;
*10
*100
*1000
*10000???
If I am RIGHT...then let's proceed to the "NEXT" step ((Lol))
say for example it is 12:30am..start by pressing the *10's button* and put it at 1 or so...then go to the 100's button and click 20 or 30...and just go from there...
SORRY..if I am not making myself clear enough..It's just that when someone knows something, and doesn't have a talent to EXPLAIN things thoroughly, she's likely to FAIL when it comes to clear "Directions"%26gt;...lol =)

What do you think of the new next generation BMW M3?
Car and Driver magazine has pictures of the "concept" M3. It looks pretty cool, but it doesn't seem much better than the 335 coupe. I think their 335 with twin turbo is too good for its segment. BMW should make a larger gap between the 335 and M3. What do you think? What do you think of the new next generation BMW M3?Agree with you! Time will certainly corroborate the view expressed! What do you think of the new next generation BMW M3?I'm not quite sure where you're getting your information for your comments. No information on the specs of the new M3 have been released.
The 335 can't even outperform the e46 (current) M3 in a straight line. On a track, there's no comparison. The next generation M3 is rumored to have a ~420 hp NA V8. The FI I6 of the 335 is generally thought to be under-rated by BMW at 300 hp (more like 325), but even so, the new M3 will be a step above in terms of power. And like the e46, handling and braking of the M cars is a class above the normal line.
The argument could be made that the 335 can be modified to generate over 400 hp (look at what people do with B5 Audi S4s, another TT powerplant). But rest assured, there will be aftermarket superchargers available for a V8 M3 before long, and based on the 500+ hp being wrung out of the current I6 M3 by packages such as AA's, a FI V8 M3 should reliably generate over 600 hp. All speculation, but there simply is no comparison.
