What are some ways that you get better performance out of a BMW?

I'm buying a 1999 BMW 323i and iy only has 170hp. What are some inexpencive ways to gain more horsepower?What are some ways that you get better performance out of a BMW?If its a manual I wouldn't be too worried. If its a 5 speed steptronic its better than the regular automatic, but it is STILL inferior to a manual unless you drive in jams all the time.



Anyway, outside supercharger kits, bang for bucks include a differential ratio swop, an M50 intake manifold, a big, bore throttle body, performance spark plugs, great tires, having the vanos seals checked. I am sure there are more things to do that will be unearthed as you ask the fanatics.



But you don't just buy a BMW for speed, remember that. Many forget this, I'm amongst them. ;) Many cheaper cars do a much better power : weight. Outside suicidal driving, BMW is eminently more agile and bouncy than most sedans - hence a higher fun factor.

buy a diffent one like M5 @M6What are some ways that you get better performance out of a BMW?Why bother? Live with what you have and enjoy it. Instead of wasting money on stupid horsepower gaines that might give you .2 second better 0-60 time, use the money on good tires. Tires are the most important and most underrated performance gain you can do to a car. Get Michelin Pilot Sport Tires or something similar, this will allow you to handle better and accelerate better than anything else.
