BMW need not to be warmed up before you begin to drive, correct?

In addition to the above question - can you start the BMW engine and begin driving right away? For Honda and Toyota cars , for example, it is recommended by almost everyone that they be warmed up before beginning to drive. Why is this not a case for BMWs?

Do I need to warm up my BMW 2001 325i?

Thanks!BMW need not to be warmed up before you begin to drive, correct? No, you don't need to warm up most modern cars. I don't know where you got all that about the Toyota and Honda.

Just start it, let oil pressure build up, and drive away.BMW need not to be warmed up before you begin to drive, correct?
drive - it will warm up as you driveBMW need not to be warmed up before you begin to drive, correct? The engine will take a longer period of time to heat up if you let it idle until its at operating temp. Most engine wear occurs when the engine is still cold since the pistons and block expand when they warm up to operating temperature. In a modern car, you want to give the engine a few seconds to attain full oil pressure and then start moving. When the engine is doing work it will heat up to its operating temperature a lot sooner. Until it is warm, however, you shouldn't drive at full throttle or at high revolutions.
No car needs to warm up. You could drive when the car is cold, but do not rev high or accelerate real fast untill the car warms up. It does not hurt the car to drive when it is cold unless you rev higher than 4200rpm. This goes for all cars.BMW need not to be warmed up before you begin to drive, correct?i dont beleive so but it is true for mazdasBMW need not to be warmed up before you begin to drive, correct?
BMW assumes that they are not going to be warmed up.
you dont need to "warm it up".. just use common sense, and dont raise hell right after you turn it on.. under normal driving conditions, it shouldnt need to warm upBMW need not to be warmed up before you begin to drive, correct?
I think this belief is one that is still just lingering around because in the 60's and 70's cars weren't built the same as they are today and ya needed to warm them up a bit more, especially if you weren't getting tune ups. Live in colder part of the country? Should warm it up a bit if for no other reason then to get some engine heat going!

Today's cars you just start 'em and go, but just rev too high until they've warmed up.
not possible
It's usually better to let your car warm up first if it's turbocharged, so that it has less friction when the turbo spins. If it's anything else, though, I wouldn't worry about it. Most modern engines can take it. However if you live in VERY VERY cold climates, you might want to let it warm up some first.
If you live in an extremely cold environmentfair enough start it up and let it run for 1min,But it will warm up quicker if you use it straight away. But do not flog it to death until it has reached its proper runnning temp. Some cars flood if left running on auto choke ticking over. The sooner you get in it and use the sooner the automatic choke opens.
