I`ve worked at a BMW dealership for the past 3 years and I can tell you with confidence that yes. All BMW`s now require and are built for you to use 91 octane gas. Of course it will burn less octane but what will happen is that eventually the engine will start having a tapping noise and your valves will become filthy and you`ll end up doing fuel injection flushes twice as often as necessaryand eventually have to do a valve job. anyways you get better performance with high octane and better milage for the moneyDo all BMW's use the highest gasoline or the most expensive gasoline type?You are suppossed to when they are new, but at that year you don't really need to.
