I'm thinking about dropping a bmw s54 engine in to a caterham frame, does anyone for see any problems?
I'm pairing it with the bmw trans so I'm assuming this is going to be pure radness. Am i blinded by wanting to go lightspeed, and actually entering project car hell?I'm thinking about dropping a bmw s54 engine in to a caterham frame, does anyone for see any problems?I don't think it will fit. These engine bays are on the small side. The engine bay is not is not very big (about 27") and also narrow.I'm thinking about dropping a bmw s54 engine in to a caterham frame, does anyone for see any problems?Too heavy and big. It will destroy the handling, plus I don't know who the rear tires will ever hookup. Go with something small and light. I would get something like a motor from a Honda S2000, its lack of torque will be offset by the chassis' lightless. Or even a motor from a toyota celica, its good enough for an Elise, just turbo the thing to make the same power as the BMW. Or be really cool and get the BMW S14.
