What is regular maintanence on a BMW 323ci?

I'm buying a 2000 323ci BMW with 150,000 miles on it and just wanted to know what the routine maintanence is like for a bmw as opposed to another vehicle. I currently own a 1999 V6 camaro and it's easy to maintain. Are there yearly inspections I can do with a bmw? Oil changes are every 3,000 miles? Anything different than with my camaro? What is regular maintanence on a BMW 323ci?I have owned many BMWs both older models and newer ones. The maintenance requirements are not that bad if you caan do some of it yourself.

A 2000 323 uses castrol synthetic oil which you can buy from the dealer for about $5 a quart. If you are handy at all, the oil is very easy to change. The oil filter is on the top of the engine and easy to change. Once the oil service indicator light is reset it will tell you when the oil needs to be changed again. It will normally be about 10000 miles before it needs to be changed again. The dealer will charge around $100-120 to change the oil.

The anitfreeze and brake fluid need to be changed every two years.

The differential and transmission fluid should be changed about every 60K miles

There are also dealer inspections about every 18K miles. One is considered minor and the next is the major one. I consider them to be a waste of time and money and are primarily designed to keep the dealer's profit margin up. I do not let them do them anymore.

As long as you change the fluids and get a tuneup about every 80K miles you will be good to go.

This is what I have done for the last 15 years on my cars and it has worked well for me.What is regular maintanence on a BMW 323ci?Sounds stupid, but I've known buddies with both Mercedes and BMW's, look how much a replacement headlight is. $150.00 or $1500.00. (the BMW was sold during the day) tricky ...
